The culmination of my Jasper Journey!
There are so many great moments that I really didn’t get to share because I had so much to share & the posts were already quite the story!
On our second day in Jasper, we went to Pyramid Lake for a short period of time. We really went just to take a few pictures. It was recommended for us to take a hike as this area can provide you with a panoramic view of the town.
I particularly enjoyed the drive to Pyramid Lake as the forest that followed the windy road up the mountain was filled with beautiful Birch trees!
The Jasper Heritage Railway Station is a main feature here in Jasper. I have explained in my previous posts that trains helped build Jasper’s reputation and created a multitude of jobs. Another opportunity to learn more about the town’s heritage & a quick photoshoot, of course!
We did not do too much shopping while in Jasper but it was nice to see a selection of stores that were not strictly “tourist” shops! I particularly enjoyed perusing the Tea Leaf Boutique & Ana Lea’s Candy Lane!
I LOVED the food in Jasper. It was fresh, locally inspired & down-right scrumptious! Everywhere we went catered to gluten-free & they were so many great restaurants we did not even have a chance to try!
Coco’s Cafe for breakfast hands down! Great coffee selection (got a Vanilla Latte of course) & I believe their whole breakfast selection can be put on a gluten-free wrap or bagel! Also, they had gluten-free muffins which were delicious.
Lunch at Fairmont Jasper Lodge. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for the view. The unobstructed view was breathtaking while eating lunch. We ate in the lounge which gave it a more relaxed feel. Food was good. We only ordered a salad, nachos & coffees.
Dinner at Olive Bistro. I cannot stop thinking about the Moules Frites we had here (mussels & fries)! The sauce was so rich and tasty. We tried to ask how they made the sauce. They laughed. We were serious.
Dinner at Fiddle River Restaurant. Great seafood dinner here! View was great looking at the mountains as they are located on the second level of the building. AMAZING customer service!
The Chevrolet Cruze was the perfect car to help us cruise along our Jasper Journey. We had rented the vehicle from Enterprise the first day of our trip. My sister owns a Cruze so I was already comfortable driving this vehicle & it drives like a dream. Also, thank god we got the Sirius XM preview station otherwise we might have been listening to static the whole drive.
Also, enjoy this drive. It is quite the long one so we took the opportunity to pull over when we could & drink up the views! Fair warning- bring snacks as there was not many places for food or restrooms along the way.
