We were only in Jasper for one full day, as the drive was quite extensive in and out of the city. It was a nice escape from the city but it was time to make our way back to Calgary!
On the drive home, we decided to be awesome & go on the Glacier Skywalk. It closed just a couple days after out trip (which was Mid-October) but will re-open in the Spring!
I have a HUGE fear of heights. When someone told us about the Glacier Skywalk, they had mentioned the glass floor of the CN tower. Let me tell you it’s a little different from a square floor piece inside a building compared to a whole glass bridge that is suspended off the side of a mountain….. Nonetheless, I conquered my fear & had an exhilarating time learning about this area, the wildlife & about the construction of this attraction.
There was an audio tour for this attraction which was nice to understand the nature & wildlife better. My maman & I were super nerdy about it & of course, listened to the whole thing. We probably spend over an hour, closer to an hour & a half here. We listened to the audio guide, took multiple pictures, and talked to the employee who was working on the bridge.
Continuing our road trip back to Calgary, we stopped at Lake Louise. Although we have been in the summer, we wanted to see what it was like in the fall! I thought it was pretty much the same experience for both seasons, except for the weather. It was chilly & started to rain when we had shown up. Lucky for us, it was the perfect time to enjoy a nice lunch inside the chateau Fairmont before heading back on the road!
Since we really wanted to go on the SkyTram in Jasper and it was unfortunately closed, we went to Banff to ride the gondola. Again, my fear of heights kicks in but the views are worth it!
After I make it back down the gondola, I get treated to Starbucks! Did you know that the Banff Gondola Starbucks is the highest Starbucks in Canada!
