I am a little wedding crazy lately (as I just helped a close friend plan her wedding this past summer) & decided that all things bridal should now be included in the Branded Babe registry [see what I did there? 😉 ] !
I have teamed up with the lovely ladies at Lover.ly to help bring you how I would style a wedding dress for select venues or type of wedding. P.S. If you are planning a wedding or may just be wedding obsessed like me, you need to sign up for this site ASAP. It is seriously a girl’s digital BFF when it comes to creating your perfect day right down to the little details.
So Loverly’s challenge for me was “What would be the perfect dress for a traditional wedding, beachside nuptials, or a rustic soirée?”
I have chosen all my dresses from their wedding dresses shop. See below what I have come up with:
A rustic wedding often involves a non-traditional wedding venue with a smaller number of guests attending. When I think rustic, I imagine a great outdoor location with long tables for dinner, hanging twinkling lights & a fun outdoor nature photoshoot before the night begins. The dress I chose is this short dress with illusion sweetheart necklace. It is playful because of the length but allows you to get around easily, while remaining comfortable! Since we are playing with a shorter hemline, I have chosen a fun shoe with a large bow. Since the dress is relatively simple, you can choose these bolder/ non-traditional accessories. Then I have continued a pearl theme by pairing the ensemble with stud pearl earrings & pearl minaudiere. I have chosen an up-do for this outfit to accentuate the neckline of the dress & to keep it elegant. There is a small barrette added to keep the look youthful & playful.
Traditional Wedding & City Chic
I love a big traditional wedding. They are filled with friends, family & most importantly love! They are often full of surprises and amazing food! I imagine the ceremony happening in a church followed by a reception that is chicly decorated. It is very elegant, as it is trying to have a timeless appeal. I have chosen a sweetheart neckline again but this time with a full ballgown skirt. I would also choose a full veil with this outfit. I went very classic with the accessories – simple YSL clutch in an off-white colour, drop-pearl earrings & an open toe Christian Louboutin white t-strap pump.
Ah, the beachside nuptials. A perfect getaway with the perfect backdrop on your big day! I imagine an arch at the end of the aisle covered in white linen or flowers for the ceremony & a dinner afterwards at round tables with simple decor near the shoreline. I have chosen this low-back lace dress that is very boho & perfect for a beachside wedding. I have paired it with simple bohemian inspired accessories like a floral crown, floral studs, lace gloves & a circular clutch tying in the beach theme.
